MMORPG (MMO) Experience?
I have a future dream of making my own Massively Multiplayer Online RolePlaying Game. I was just wondering what kind of educational background I would need. I don’t know how to sprite nor program. In fact, I only know how to play games. I know about programming languages like C & C++ and stuff like that, and I’ve heard of programs like Ruby. I just don’t know how to use them. I know a lot of game programmers and people with similar careers started doing it as a hobby. I just need a push in the right direction. I was thinking about going to gaming programs like at Univ. of Texas or DeVry.
Appreciate if someone from WoW or Guild Wars, etc. could help.
I’d suggest learning some basic programming from an online programming course or a book like Programming For Dummies (no offense). Try and go from there and get some real experience in programming.
